Like all projects I started a pinterest board. This one is called Baskin Baby #2 Room you can follow me here.
I'm very inspired by simple items from Restoration Hardware because with being in the military I have grown to love buying white, cream, & khaki colored items for our house because no matter where we move I know it will work in any room. I however can't see myself paying that much for some items.
When we found out we were having another girl, I wanted the room to be simple feminine. I went with the color scheme of white(never would have guessed) with soft pink & burlap color accents because I had started to re-do Alessia's room the same way. If they ever have to share a room the stuff can all be used together.
I ordered the DaVinci Jenny Lind CRIB, it isn't the almost $1000 iron crib from RH, but it has the same feel. This crib can be put together by one person. You can either have wheels on or off, we left them off.
The bedding I kept simple, but wanted a little ruffle detail. The Ruffled Crib BUMPER - Bay Doll Layered took a lot of searching and the last place I looked was amazon. My sister-in-law emailed me the perfect Ruffled Crib Skirt - Target.
Inspiration RH Dresser
I wanted a French inspired DRESSER that had the curvy legs. I looked for ideas on Pinterest and if any one would ask I would show them the photos on the board. My best friend Taylour found this amazing white french dresser in my home town Dayton, OH. We sent my mom & her mom on a mission to go pick it up! My shower was in Dayton and we used it as the display table (click here to see baby shower). Headbands were all made at Juliana's baby shower by the guest, get your kit here LB Boutique.
My husband's name is Jonah & when he was born his mom decided on his name because he was 10 lbs and she said she felt like a whale when pregnant. I thought it would be very fitting to have a whale mobile in the room that would include the pale pink color to stick out from all the white. I found the whale pattern on Etsy. I used an embroidery hoop, lace, fishing wire, crystals, and pearls to complete the look.
Princess Crown Canvas
Inspiration RH Personalized Crown Art
Jessica from Modern Moments Designs loves when I toss new ideas at her to create :) she never disappoints either. Jessica designed the canvas & I ordered it to save money instead of purchasing the one from RH. You can purchase the same canvas here.
After searching for about 3 months I found the RUG on Home Decorators Faux Sheepskin Area Rug. I was so excited about this find because they had one on Urban Outfitters for half the size, but double the price! The GLIDER we got is from Little Castle & we chose the Valentino style in Lexington Color because the shape is more narrow and not so wide. Anissa made the burlap letters & the DIY is above.
In the end yes all the items are from all different places, but I saved a lot of money to get the look I wanted. So it was worth it to shop around. I know we will be moving in 6 months from the time Juliana arrives, but I still wanted the nursery to look complete.
